Alison Jardine will become one of just 2,500 women to ever complete all six major marathons
A Lanarkshire woman is set to join an elite club of runners as she prepares to take on her sixth major marathon.
The prospect of joining this exclusive list is filling the 36-year-old from Hamilton with much excitement, as she looks forward to achieving her mammoth goal, one that has been 10 years in the making. After completing the London marathon again in 2018., Alison had well and truly got her running bug, and went on to race in Berlin and Chicago the following year, with a third outing at the London marathon that year too."I was the kind of person in school who would avoid PE but I did a couple of 10ks in my early 20s and decided I wanted to go to New York. Rather than just buy a plane ticket I decided to go try and run the marathon for charity.
"So I'm proud, but I hope it helps other people realise that they don't have to be the fastest. If you put the hard work in and the commitment you can actually become quite fast." "And I think this one in Tokyo will be even more emotional because it's everything built up to that final point.
