The data, which coincides with Challenge Poverty Week, which runs until October 8, shows that in Marion Fellows’ Motherwell and Wishaw constituency over 5,700 children are classed as living in poverty.

“But these achievements are at risk of being undone as more and more families are consigned to poverty by Westminster. Labour leader Keir Starmer faced a backlash in July after he refused to commit to scrapping the two-child cap if Labour wins power at Westminster next year.
