The SNP's by-election candidate has hit out at Labour after the party's Time for Inclusivity Education motion was rejected by Labour in South Lanarkshire Council.
The SNP’s Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election candidate has bashed Labour and accused them of throwing “young LGBT people under the bus” after they rejected a school inclusivity motion.
The SNP says that the decision contradicts Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar’s position, who previously stated: “I wholeheartedly support the campaign’s inspirational aim to tackle bullying in our schools through an inclusive, educational approach. LGBT-inclusive education must – and I believe will – become a reality in Scotland.
Commenting, the SNP’s candidate for the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election, Katy Loudon said: “South Lanarkshire Labour councillors have thrown young LGBT people under the bus by refusing to back this motion. “Once again, we are seeing first-hand the division and flip-flopping of a Party who are willing to abandon all of their principles to win power.
