MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Inside the practice court at FedEx Forum, Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant didn’t wear any sort of protection on his injured right hand. He dribbled and shot baskets with his left hand when reporters were granted access to the final moments of practice Tuesday.
Morant, the Grizzlies’ leading scorer during the regular season, was not available for comment Tuesday. He said after Sunday’s game that his participation in Game 2 was “in jeopardy” after he re-injured his hand in a fall and was sidelined for the final 5:48On the arena’s main court, the Lakers offered a collective shrug when asked about Morant.
It didn’t mean the Lakers weren’t thinking about and talking about Morant, who averaged 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 8.1 assists during the regular season. He had 18 points, six rebounds and two assists in a little more than 30 minutes before he was sidelined in Game 1.
