The Woodlands had another banner campaign, winning the District 13-6A title with a 10-0 record. The team defeated Nimitz, Cypress Ranch, Bridgeland, Mansfield Lake Ridge and MacArthur in the first five rounds of the playoffs. Lake Travis extended its winning streak to 13 games with the win and will take on either Seven Lakes or Plano at 6:30 p.m. Saturday back at the same venue.
Lake Travis got an early break in the 13th minute when The Woodlands was called for a handball in the box. That resulted in senior midfielder Ben Platt connecting on a penalty kick for the 1-0 lead.Lake Travis finally added to its lead in the 49th minute as senior midfielder Connor Sanders made a precise pass to senior forward Alex Bethke, who finished from close range for the 2-0 advantage.
