✍️ Anas Sarwar | 'Scotland is being failed by two centralising governments, relying on division to mask their failures'
For the last 16 years the SNP has promoted an “us vs them” politics. They have tried to convince us that only Scotland feels detached and deserted by this disastrous Tory government – but that’s just not true.
Right across the country – Glasgow to Gloucester, Lanarkshire to Liverpool, Stirling to Swansea – people are united in their belief that this country needs change. Our economy, communities, and our public services have all been left weaker by these two incompetent governments. But this isn’t as good as it gets. To tackle the challenges we face we need to tackle the unequal distribution of power that is at the heart of our political system, and that’s what Labour will do.
Not only will the next Labour government secure economic growth, but it will ensure everyone shares in that growth. Labour will put an end to years of decline and division, delivering a stronger Scotland within a fairer UK.
