Labour's newest MP Ashley Dalton demands general election now saying Tories 'don't understand voters'
Labour’s Ashley Dalton called for a general election after being elected as the new MP for West Lancashire.
Speaking to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, she said: “People in West Lancashire have definitely talked about the impact of Liz Truss’s disastrous mini-budget and the consequences for their mortgages along with struggling to pay energy bills and the cost of living crisis. However, Conservatives said the public had not focused on Liz Truss government’s impact. They simply wanted practical politics to address current pressures and priorities. The Conservative candidate was Mike Prendergast, an Ormskirk solicitor.
He added: “Skelmersdale has been denied a railway connection for years, with various Westminster governments in charge. Skelmersdale people, especially young people, are missing out on all sorts of opportunities including job opportunities because of the lack of transport connections.”
