A source close to Sir Keir said: “We remain absolutely thrilled with these results and there’s no wobbles whatsoever.
“The key thing for us is about where and about what margins we are taking back these battleground seats,” the source said. But they added that independent experts “are saying this is maybe not strong enough for a majority [in a general election] and there is a lack of enthusiasm for Labour”. They added: “We need that that big offer and for Starmer to lay it out over the next year in order to build the gains on the Tory implosion.”
