In the absence of adding a big-name free agent this summer, the Knicks will build around rookie R.J. Barrett and will ask their fans for more patience going forward.

Of course, he surrendered that title to Zion Williamson at Duke. Speaking of Zion, he has been installed as the heavy favorite to win NBA Rookie of the Year honors, but Barrett says he's coming for his old friend. Playing with Zion, Barrett missed a crucial free throw in the Elite Eight against Michigan State that led to Duke failing to make the Final Four.
Washington is a Knicks fan, just like Barrett's late grandfather, and he predicts you'll see more Knicks fans in Canada.
