Jurgen Klopp gives his take on the decision not to send off Pascal Gross as Liverpool are held 2-2 at Brighton
Jurgen Klopp steered clear of criticising the decision not to send off Pascal Gross as Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw at Brighton, saying he is "too old" for more refereeing controversy.
Salah's second, which was cancelled out in the second half by Lewis Dunk, came via the penalty spot after Gross had dragged Dominik Szoboszlai to the ground as he received a pass from Darwin Nunez. After VAR errors and controversial decisions marred last week's 2-1 loss at Tottenham - and subsequently dominated the news cycle - Klopp sidestepped the opportunity to give his detailed assessment of the call to keep Gross on the pitch.
"Can I ask the question here? Do you think it was a goal scoring opportunity? Hands up! I haven’t seen it back yet. Oh, a few hands up!On the game itself, Klopp added: "I think unfortunately, yes . At 1-0, it was served on a plate but it was a similar situation , we forced them to make similar mistakes around our goals, 2-1 up is a good result for half time here, for the kind of half anyway because it's a really good team and they are difficult to defend against all the time.
