Michael Hillier and Rachel Fulstow both deny the murder of Liam Smith
A self confessed killer told a jury that he was seeking to implicate his girlfriend in an alleged murder because she had ‘thrown him under the bus’. Michael Hillier admits shooting Liam Smith in the face outside his home in Wigan in November last year, before dousing him in acid.
Ms Fulstow, 37, of Andrew Drive, York, denies murder, manslaughter and perverting the course of justice. As he gave evidence for a third day, Hillier was questioned by Ms Fulstow’s barrister. Mr Hayton asked Hillier: “All you want to do is convict Rachel Fulstow isn’t it?” He replied: “I feel at this point Rachel needs to be held accountable, just as I do.”
“The only person that is spinning a yarn is Rachel.” Mr Hayton said: “This is a lie, so that nobody else gets to be with Rachel Fulstow.”
