Kevin Stefanski's offense has been good this season, but there are plenty of problems elsewhere...
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Scribbles in my notebook as the Browns prepare to face Tampa Bay:
3. Because the defense is so bad, I’ve spent little time dwelling on the awful performance of the special teams. According to Football Outsiders, the Browns rank 27th in that category. Pro Football Focus has them at 32, dead last in the NFL. If you’ve been watching the game, you know those rankings match the eye test.
7. In the media, there is a push for Stefanski to give up calling the plays on offense and be more of a CEO head coach. GM Andrew Berry said one of the reasons Stefanski was hired was to work with the offense and call plays. Overall, he’s done a good job with the offense. But the two other areas of the game demand more attention. He has to figured out how to do that. The issue of play calling can be dealt with after the season.
