Years after bottling up her emotions, Kelly Clarkson has thanked her mum for making her write down her feelings.
The 41-year-old ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’ singer said she spent years not dealing with her emotions and her English teacher mother Jeanne told her if she couldn’t bear to talk about them she had better put them down on paper.
“The best thing, and greatest thing, my mother ever did for me was shove paper and pen in front of me and go, ‘If you’re not gonna talk about it, you need to write about it…’ – and that is how I became a writer.” Not long after splitting from Brandon, Kelly moved to New York City with their children to host her self-titled talk show.
