Kate Mulgrew, who plays Vice Admiral Kathryn Janeway on Star Trek: Prodigy, has commented on the cancelation of the animated series by Paramount+. Following the announcement that Paramount+ has cut multiple series, including Prodigy, the streaming service deleted all 20 season 1 episodes on Monday, June 26, 2023. In addition, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds actor Bruce Horak also chimed in about the end of Star Trek: Prodigy on Paramount+.

On Twitter, Kate Mulgrew made her first public comment about Star Trek: Prodigy's cancelation. Mulgrew responded to a Tweet from Prodigy's creators and executive producers Kevin and Dan Hageman about their panel at the upcoming Star Trek Las Vegas convention, and she shares very Janeway-like inspiring words. The Change.org petition to save Star Trek: Prodigy has now garnered over 17,000 signatures, and Star Trek fans are seeking even more ways to rescue the show and find Prodigy a new streaming home.

Other Star Trek: Prodigy cast members like Rylee Alazraqui and Bonnie Gordon have also Tweeted their disappointment about Paramount+ canceling Star Trek: Prodigy. But hearing a hopeful message from Kate Mulgrew that "We have still only just begun" is just what fans need to rally and continue the fight to #SaveStarTrekProdigy. There is certainly hope on fans' side that Star Trek: Prodigy will find a new streaming service to showcase seasons 1 and 2.
