Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway has been open and honest about her family's experience of the devastating effects of long Covid which left her husband very ill
Kate Garraway has shared that her health-stricken husband Derek Draper 'choked and turned blue' in a recent 'near miss'.
He's been in and out of hospital over the past few years, is only able to speak a few words and can't breathe in oxygen nor breathe out carbon dioxide efficiently, meaning his body is "slightly poisoned all the time". She spoke of how Derek eventually "sort of vomited" as the relieved carers knew they'd just had a "really near miss".
Derek was there to support his wife as she was given the MBE by Prince William, but Kate later revealed that he ended up in hospital.
