The broadcaster, 56, used the ITV worker as an example to illustrate lengthy appointment times for non-urgent treatment during a discussion about NHS waiting lists on Friday’s show.
Sir Rod paid for tests at his local NHS hospital after hearing ‘heartbreaking’ patient stories Kate’s comments come after she confirmed she suffered her own health scare last year. Last November, she woke up one morning with a crippling pain in her chest and believed she could be having a heart attack. After deciding to go to work regardless, despite also being sick during her commute, she was then instructed to go to the accident and emergency department.
