Celebrities looooove adding to their extensive tattoo collections, and thanks to social media we get to see all the intricate, sometimes pretty and often weird creations up close. Whether they’re minimalist line drawings by Toronto-based artist-to-the-stars Curt Montgomery or finely scrawled mantras by L.A.’s favourite artist, Jonathan Valena, the celeb tattoo train is an endless source of inspo.
While the artist was in love with her ink, the internet was not. Von D quickly received backlash online for her latest addition, with some on social media saying that it looked spray painted on. In response, Von D posted again on Instagram, writing:"Having been in the tattoo industry for the greater part of my life, I’ve seen countless tattoos of all types of styles — but NEVER have I felt inspired to tell anyone 'that’s ugly' or 'you’re stupid.
"Yes, I did decide to black out a large portion of old, crappy tattoos on my arm that I posted yesterday," Von D continued,"and regardless of what people might think about it, I absolutely LOVE how simple and clean it looks now."
