Arizona gubernatorial candidate KariLake 'flattered' by links to possible GovRonDeSantis 2024 ticket
A MAGA darling who had been endorsed by former President Donald Trump in her contentious GOP primary, Lake said she was"flattered" by the prospect of being a running mate for Trump's likely chief primary foe when the matter was raised in an interview with SiriusXM’s The Wilkow Majority.“I've been asked that, which is, it's flattering that people consider me for that. I just want to save Arizona. I truly do. I'm not looking at a long political career.
"I’m going to serve eight years as governor of Arizona,” Lake told ABC's This Week when asked about a Trump-Lake ticket last month. DeSantis has been widely viewed as a top contender in the 2024 race if he chooses to run. Up until Tuesday, he had said he was focused on winning reelection as Florida governor, which he did, easily.Lake's race remains uncalled as hundreds of thousands of ballots remain uncounted, and election officials have indicated it may take a few more days at least. The current count shows Lake trailing her Democratic rival, Katie Hobbs, 50.33% to 49.67%, with only about 70% of votes in.
