Justin Bieber’s bad years are well-documented. And now, the Canadian musician has addressed those dark days in a lengthy Instagram post.
Sharing a note to his 118.2 million followers, Justin described how becoming a star at such an early age had a profound impact on his decision-making and ego. “As my talent progressed and I became ultra successful, it happened within [the space of] two years. My whole world was flipped on its head. I went from a 13 year old boy from a small town to being praised left and right by the world with millions sating how much they loved me and how great I was,” he wrote. “Humility comes with age.
Bieber describes the situation as “a very scary concept” and writes that by 20 he had made “every bad decision” possible, adding that he “went from one of the most loved and adored people in the world to the most ridiculed, judged and hate person in the world.” This shift, he says, led to him “doing pretty hard drugs at 19”. He confessed that, at the same time, he was abusing all of his relationships. “I became resentful, disrespectful to women, and angry. I became distant to everyone who loved me, and I was hiding behind a shell of a person that I had become.”singer acknowledging his change of attitude and the new season of his life.
