This bout with pancreatic cancer comes less than a year after Ruth Bader Ginsburg was treated for lung cancer
. The Justice finished three weeks of radiation treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. The treatments, conducted on an outpatient basis, started on August 5 and are now complete. Their statement explains that the treatments only slowed Ginsburg down a little bit — she missed her summer vacation but otherwise, kept to her schedule. “As part of her treatment, a bile duct stent was placed. The Justice tolerated treatment well. She cancelled her annual summer visit to Santa Fe, but has otherwise maintained an active schedule. The tumor was treated definitively and there is no evidence of disease elsewhere in the body.
