The Padres' Juan Soto, Xander Bogaerts, Manny Machado and Ha-Seong Kim up for NL Silver Slugger awards
Juan Soto is poised to add to a decorated resume this offseason. The 24-year-old left fielder headlines the Padres’ finalists for NL Silver Slugger awards. It would be the fourth of his career — and fourth straight — and he’s a strong candidate after leading the majors with 132 walks and pairing a career-high 35 homers with 109 RBIs and a .930 OPS. Other outfield finalists include the Braves’ Ronald Acuna Jr.
The Padres did lead the NL in walks and ranked fourth in on-base percentage. The other offensive team finalists are Braves, Dodgers and Phillies. Bogarts is up for his sixth Silver Slugger Award. He won the first five with the Red Sox before posting a .790 OPS in his first year in San Diego, his lowest since 2017.
