Scott led at every split to record the race’s only sub-50 time and beat second place Kayla Fu of Fort Bend Clements . Scott timed a personal-best 2:00.09 in the 200 individual medley to finish behind senior Julia Wozniak of Flower Mound . Scott’s previous gold had come in relays after the Jaguars won the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relays a year ago. Johnson set a state record in the 200 relay in 2021. Scott also earned a silver in the 200 medley relay in 2020.
“Getting a medal was a shock to me,” Cronk said. “I’m really proud of each race. I dropped a lot of time, and it made me really happy because I’ve been training really hard.”
