Boris Johnson ‘clearly breached’ rules on jobs for ex-ministers with new Daily Mail column, watchdog says The scathing assessment comes a day after Mr Johnson was found to have repeatedly lied to parliament over Partygate
has committed a “clear breach” of the rules on former ministers taking on jobs by becoming a Daily Mail columnist, a watchdog has said.
The scathing assessment comes a day after Mr Johnson was found to have repeatedly lied to parliament over Partygate. A spokesman for the ex-prime minister said: “Boris Johnson is in touch with Acoba and the normal process is being followed.”While Acoba gives guidance on the paid work former ministers take up within two years of leaving office, they do not have any statutory powers to enforce their rulings.
