Montana led the 49ers on ‘The Drive’ in Super Bowl XXIII wearing the red No. 16 jersey for a second time.
Joe Montana, at age 66, has broken a record held by Tom Brady.
Montana wore the red No. 16 jersey in Super Bowl XIX, a 38-16 win over the Dolphins in January 1985, then he wore the same jersey again in Super Bowl XXIII, a 20-16 win over the Bengals four years later, which featured “The Drive”, a 92-yard march in the game’s final minutes capped by Montana’s winning touchdown pass to John Taylor.
