House majority victory 2018. It's about much more than symbolism, sticking it to Trump, or satisfying the demands of the party's base.
We will witness a woman developing and running historic government programs. She is the person who will speak for the United States and represent it before world leaders. It would be her job to preside over the Senate. But the role she stands to inherit from Mike Pence will be remarkably different than that of any prior vice president.
Biden's future vice president will ascend to the office at a time of tremendous crisis in the country. Her responsibilities will have to be greater than any of her predecessors. The next team will face enormous tasks: rebuilding our economy, reforming our health system, rehabilitating a beleaguered bureaucracy, bridging America's deep divisions, and restoring our global influence.
