CBS News has estimated Joe Biden has secured more than 1,991 delegates, enough to clinch the Democratic nomination.
Biden called it an"honor" to compete for the nomination against"one of the most talented groups of candidates the Democratic party has ever fielded — and I am proud to say that we are going into this general election a united party." Biden picked up a sizable delegate haul in Tuesday's primaries in District of Columbia, Indiana, Maryland, Montana, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and South Dakota, CBS News projected.
