In addition, having a park supervisor for the entire park would alleviate the need to have a playbook on hand to know to whom to relay a complaint on issues in the park. Recently, a potential licensing and liability issue was relayed to Park District personnel, and two weeks later, it’s like watching a game of hot potato, with the issue being passed from one person to another with no one in the Park District taking responsibility. A park supervisor for the entire park would alleviate this issue.
Park advisory councils are intended to act as a conduit between residents and the Park District, generally through the park supervisor. That is difficult to do when the advisory council does not have a park supervisor to relay concerns and suggestions to.
