Jim Carrey is SLAMMED for 'sexual assault' on then-20-year-old Alicia Silverstone at awards show
The comedian, 60, slammed celebrities at the Oscars for giving Smith a standing ovation following his Best Actor win and called for the actor to be escorted out. Yet fans were quick to remind him that he 'sexually assaulted' a then 20-year-old Silverstone at the 1997 MTV Movie Awards.
Video footage from the ceremony has resurfaced on Twitter, showing the actor grabbing Silverstone by the head and kissing her after she presented his award. During the same night, Carrey also tried to kiss Smith, now 53, after he was announced as the winner for MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Kiss. The two resurfaced clips are now doing the rounds on Twitter, as online users brand Carrey a 'hypocrite' for condemning Smith's actions.
