The New York Jets and New England Patriots squared off in a pivotal September game.
But they still haven’t improved enough where it matters most: on the offensive line. The Jets, despite Robert Saleh’s secret last-minute offensive line shuffle, couldn’t block anyone Sunday in the run or pass game. And the result was predictably disastrous.
But when it fell harmlessly to the turf, it felt right. Because up until the final few minutes of the game, it felt like the Jets had no realistic chance to win the game. The Jets were trying to prove they could still be a contender after Rodgers. But they actually showed us that it likely would have been tough sledding all along.
