Flight LS189 from Glasgow to Mallorca was forced to declare Mayday as fuel reserves diminished while the plane was ordered into a holding pattern as storms battered Mallorca.
A Jet2 flight from Glasgow Airport to Palma De Mallorca was forced to make an emergency landing after almost running out of fuel mid-flight.
The plane, with 187 passengers and six crew on board, was then left flying overhead 35,000ft in the sky. Passengers were expecting a routine two and a half hour flight, but pilots declared the midair emergency when the final fuel reserve of 1159kg was no longer ensured, Daily Record reports.
