Jessa (Duggar) Seewald had to be rushed to the hospital via ambulance after giving birth to her third child at home.
Jessa explained in the first video that she was making a smoothie on the morning of Sunday, May 26, when her water broke 10 days before her due date. Since she had gone late with both of her boys, Spurgeon, 3, and Henry, 2, she was expecting to be pregnant for another two weeks at least.
While her initial birth plan was to head to a birthing suite at the hospital, she decided to have Ivy at home instead, in part because her midwife was out of town. She called a backup midwife to come over, as well as her sisterJessa was only in labor for about three hours before welcoming Ivy Jane to the world, but that's when things got complicated.There's always a fair amount of blood that accompanies a birth, but after Jessa delivered Ivy, her bleeding wasn't stopping.
Jill told the camera,"So she's headed out. And there's Benji, he's getting ready to head out. So they're finishing checking out the baby and then everybody's heading that way. Um ... just to take the baby to Jessa so she can nurse and everything. And then, hopefully they'll have her IV and all that. Going with the Pitocin and if she needs another transfusion or whatever then they'll see.
