The father was found with 'trauma to the face' in a home in Lacey, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.
A Jersey Shore man has been charged with killing his 67-year-old father on Wednesday, authorities said.
Justin Donaldson, 36, of Lacey was charged with murder after police found the body of David Donaldson in the family home on Weehawken Avenue, thePolice showed up at the home after a family member called 911 and asked for a welfare check on his father and brother at about 4:35 p.m. When police arrived, Justin Donaldson wouldn’t let officers inside, officials said.
A short time later, though, police “made entry” into the house and found David Donaldson with “trauma to the face,” the prosecutor’s office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Justin Donaldson was taken into custody at the scene and is being held at the Ocean County jail in Toms River ahead of a detention hearing.
A motive for the alleged murder was not disclosed and additional information was not immediately available.
