, along with the special, will be available when HBO Max launches this May. Sources toldthat each of the stars will receive something in the "$3 million-$4 million range" for the special, which they're all executive producing, as well. That number is not confirmed.
"Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together — we are reuniting with David, Jennifer, Courteney, Matt, Lisa, and Matthew for an HBO Max special that will be programmed alongside the entire Friends library," Kevin Reilly, chief content officer, HBO Max and president, TBS, TNT, and truTV said.
HBO paid $425 million for the streaming rights to the series, which was previously on Netflix. The special coincides with the show's 25th anniversary as well as its move to the new streaming platform.
