Jenna Ortega is the star of Netflix's Wednesday, but now the actress is also ready to also get in the writer's room for series two.
Jenna Ortega says she signed on for the first series of Netflix hit show Wednesday “with hesitance”, after previously feeling unheard within the industry.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, she said that the best on-set environments had been those with people who “wanted to hear different opinions”. She explained: “I’ve had experiences in TV where I felt my voice wasn’t heard, that I was meant to be a puppet. She added that she had been “fortunate” to work with producer Tim Burton, who had engaged with her on a daily basis about the show and her role.
The first season of Wednesday, released in November on Netflix, saw Jenna’s character become embroiled in a supernatural murder mystery. The series, also starring Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams and Luis Guzman as Gomez, received wide critical acclaim. The first season of the show was such a hit that even Lady Gaga got in on the action, doing the viral TikTok dance from the show. When Jenna was asked her thoughts at the 80th Golden Globes Awards, she said: “It's really strange. A couple of years ago, or a long time ago, I worked with a hairdresser that used to work with her and I had just seen Lady Gaga in concert in Boston a couple of years before.
