Invincible art imagines Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the perfect live-action Omni-Man.
A new piece of fan art imagines The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan tackling another Robert Kirkman role in the form of Invincible’s Omni-Man. Created in 2003 as part of the Image Comics label, Invincible follows the story of Mark Grayson, the 17-year-old son of Omni-Man, a super-powered being from the planet Viltrum. Unbeknownst to Grayson, his father secretly harbors a dark motive for spending his time on Earth.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by 21XFOUR This latest piece of potential casting comes off the back of recent assurances by Kirkman that the live-action Invincible movie is still very much in the pipeline. Meanwhile, Amazon’s Invincible season 2 is currently expected to return to the Prime Video streaming platform later this year, with season 3 also on the way.
However, in the lead-up to Invincible season 1’s premiere in 2021, Kirkman assured fans of the comic book that the live-action adaptation was still in active development. More recently, during an interview to celebrate the comic book’s 20th anniversary, the series creator intimated that the response to the animated series has helped push the live-action project along, though sometimes “movies take a little bit longer.
Though one thing that Kirkman has made clear is that the live-action movie will seek to differentiate itself from the animated series, including minimizing any potential cast crossovers. As such viewers should not expect Yeun to play a live-action version of Mark Grayson. This also leaves the role of Omni-Man wide open for Morgan to come in and play if that is the direction Rogen and Goldberg decide to pursue.
