Jeff McNeil missed out on making the All-Star festivities this week — and scheduled a tee time instead.
Jeff McNeil will be golfing during the All-Star break at he New York Open.In an interview with Post Sports Plus last April, McNeil revealed that he has already played Bethpage Black, and that he has shot a 68 at Pebble Beach Golf Links and 69 at Cypress Point Club.
“It’s pretty cool to see a bunch of the players I played against in junior golf out here — Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay, Daniel Berger, Patrick Rodgers,’’ McNeil told The Post’s Mark Cannizzaro in 2019 at Liberty National Golf Course. “In my head I’m like, ‘Yeah, I played with these guys before, this could have been me if I stuck with it.’ If I went to college and played, you never know what might have happened.

A Neutron Star is Unwinding a Companion StarAstronomers have found a bizarre binary star system where a neutron star orbits with another star. Its companion used to be more massive, but the neutron star has torn away and consumed its outer layers, leaving only three solar masses of material. The neutron star has increased its rotation speed due to all the material stolen from its companion. Although the stripped star looks similar to regular main sequence stars, this is only because it still has a thin shell of hydrogen around its largely helium core. It should explode as a supernova about a million years from now, becoming a neutron star. Eventually, they'll collide, creating a kilonova.
