Jeff Bridges returns to the TRON world to promote Disney World's new TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster ahead of TRON: Ares' production start.
TRON star Jeff Bridges returns to the Grid to promote Disney World's upcoming TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster. Bridges starred as video game developer Kevin Flynn in 1982's TRON, where he became trapped in a mainframe computer and used various programs to escape. He reprised his role as Kevin in 2010's TRON: Legacy, as well as Clu, an advanced computer hacking program sharing Kevin's likeness.
In a promotional video from Disney Parks, Bridges reunited with Disney to promote Disney World's upcoming TRON rollercoaster. His message is meant to congratulate Disney and everyone who managed to bring the world of TRON back to life through the roller coaster. Check out Bridges' full statement below:
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY "The Grid, a digital frontier. I had a chance to journey into this brave new world, and I can tell you this. It was an unforgettable moment. And now, Tron Lightcycle Run at Walt Disney World invites us all again to step inside the Grid. But don't worry, it's just like riding a lightcycle. Congratulations to the Disney cast members and the Imagineers for bringing this attraction to life. I can't wait to experience it myself.
Though details on TRON: Ares are currently under wraps, the film will star Jared Leto and will be directed by Joachim Rønning, best known for directing Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. However, if the film is a sequel to TRON: Legacy, Kevin's sacrifice to destroy Clu at the end of the film indicates he may not appear in the upcoming movie.
However, given the sometimes unpredictable nature of the Grid, it's possible Kevin survived Clu's destruction through means that could be introduced in TRON: Ares. If that ends up being the case, then it would be possible for Leto's character to interact with Kevin so he can learn more about the Grid and how it operates.
