Jeanette Ball signs three-year contract to become next superintendent at Southwest ISD

The meeting began with a swell of praise for Verstuyft. Board members thanked him for helping the district grow and for his dedication to students. Ball harkened back to her own struggles in education, being told by teachers, she said, that her fluency in Spanish was jumbling her mind. “My heart never left Southwest ISD. My goal was always to come back home, build upon the strong foundation, and continue the district’s commitment to Growth, Service, and Results,” a Southwest ISD news release quoted her as saying.
