While announcing that GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 has wrapped filming, director James Gunn describes the last scene in the movie they filmed.
Director James Gunn has revealed the last thing he filmed for Guardians of the Galaxy 3. The first Guardians of the Galaxy premiered in 2014, with its sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, following in 2017. Five years later, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 has not yet premiered, but it is starting to gear up for its 2023 release.
After these delays, it was particularly exciting to hear that filming officially began in November 2021. Now, the cast and crew has confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 has wrapped filming, as well. Plot details have been kept strictly under wraps, but it was revealed that Will Poulter will appear in the film as Adam Warlock. It is suspected that his character will be more villainous in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 than his comic book counterpart and will be seeking revenge on the Guardians.

Unfortunately, it will be another year before the film releases and shines a light on this final shot described by Gunn. All that is really known for sure is that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is bound to be an emotional one. Gunn has confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is the last in his series. This doesn't mean that the Guardians won't appear elsewhere in the MCU, but it won't be under Gunn's direction if they do.
