Republican Jamaican government insiders say they are 'disappointed' William did not issue a full apology for slavery

Duke of Cambridge called slavery 'abhorrent' and 'stain on history' in a speech at state dinner this evening. Duchess of Cambridge stunned in green Jenny Packham dress paired with jewellery loaned to her by Queen. Prince William was suave in black tie as they arrived at dinner thrown in their honour by the Governor General.

Earlier, Jamaican PM said nation is 'moving on' and has 'true ambitions' to become an 'independent' country. They were earlier mobbed as they enjoyed a Jamaican cultural tour aided by England star Raheem Sterling. But there were also protests at the British High Commission over slave trade and demand for reparations.
