OPINION: 'If you send Tim Ryan instead and help the Democrats retake the Senate, the results will be far worse, and much longer-lasting. I wish we had better choices. But the choice we do have is clear,' writes columnist Ted Diadiun.

Ryan told our editorial board in his endorsement interview that he would support both efforts as a senator. Unfortunately, Vance declined to attend the interview, but it is hard to imagine him supporting the creation of these two additional states.

The new federal law would require employers to deduct money from nonunion workers’ paychecks to fund bargaining efforts, and would require employers to provide unions with employees’ home addresses and contact information. It would also, in some instances, “impose a backdoor card-check procedure that neuters secret-ballot elections,”Ryan is for it; Vance against.

The law would in many cases usurp the 50 states’ authority over their elections and make efforts to police voting fraud far more difficult, if not impossible.

So, Republicans and independents and disillusioned Democrats – here’s a warning: Keep your eye on the prize in this Senate election. In a red state that twice voted emphatically for Trump, it would be unthinkable to have two Democrats representing us in the Senate.of the 2020 election, stated lack of concern about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and shoot-from-the-hip style are justifiably concerning if he gains a seat in the Senate.
