BREAKING The tornado that damaged property in Bucks County on Thursday night was confirmed as an EF-1 twister with winds of up to 100 miles per hour.
A Tornado Warning was issued for Bucks County around 9:45 p.m. and expired shortly after 10 p.m. The damage was already done in at least two neighborhoods. There were reports of storm damage in Bedminster Township and Dublin following the tornado warning.
The National Weather Service out of Mount Holly, New Jersey, confirmed that the tornado struck near the Souderton Road and Dublin Pike intersection where Bedminster and Hilltown townships meet. Its exact path was expected to be determined by later Friday. "A tornado was determined to have occurred Thursday evening in the area near the Souderton Road and Dublin Pike intersection,"Friday afternoon."A final assessment including rating, path length and other results of the survey are expected to be completed and transmitted via a Public Information Statement by late this afternoon or early this evening."
The storm survey team has determined that a tornado occurred generally in the area of the 113/313 intersection. Further details including rating and path length will be available later today.Power lines were torn down, trees were uprooted and some roads were blocked hours after the storm, which hit around 9:50 p.m., the weather service said earlier Friday.
