Temperatures are set to rise slightly this week, according to the Met Office
Greater Manchester has been gripped by a long cold spell in recent weeks, forcing many to turn their heating on despite the cost of living crisis. So this week's milder weather forecast will be a great relief to many.
The middle of the week is when showers are expected to hit the region. Tuesday and Wednesday morning are set to be wet with showers also expected to fall on Wednesday afternoon.This rain could continue into Thursday morning in some areas before drying up for the weekend. The week overall is set to be nearly entirely overcast with only short sunny intervals expected early on in the week.
For the region the Met Office gives an outlook of tomorrow's weather as: "Any early showers dying out to leave a bright day on Monday with winds easing. Cloud increasing from the west later, heralding the arrival of further wind and rain overnight. Maximum temperature 9 °C." Looking ahead to the first days of February, the Met Office predicts: "On Thursday, cloud and outbreaks of rain will slowly move across the north of the UK, with heavier bursts for the northwest at first, while the south is more likely to stay dry with sunny intervals. Strong winds will mainly confine to the north early in the day.
