The new game-centered venue in downtown San Jose includes a four-lane bowling alley, arcade games and a karaoke room.
Maybe I’ve been cooped up too long, but it sure was a lot of fun to visit, the long-awaited, game-themed bar and restaurant opening this week in downtown San Jose. And if you talk to owner Mike Messinger, he’s counting on other people feeling the same way.

But my favorite touch is a nod to the building’s long history in San Jose. The spot at 163 W. Santa Clara St. was home to AP Stump’s Chop House and, more recently, AFKgg Gamer Lounge. And longtime San Joseans will remember it as D.B. Cooper’s. But the 1870 building started out under the ownership of winemakers Charles LeFranc and later Paul Masson.
