The former Bishop McDevitt standout has spent most of the season on the Bengals practice squad, and if the teams wins tonight, he will have a Super Bowl ring to show for it.
Noah Spence tackles Cleveland Browns running back D'Ernest Johnson in the first half of their game on Jan. 9. At least that is what his father, Greg Spence, said heading into tonight’s Super Bowl matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams.“He wants to let his brothers have this moment,” Greg said. “He wants to let them do the talking, and then after the season he might have something to say.
Spence was a heralded prep prospect coming out of Bishop McDevitt, and the Buccaneers took him for his explosive pass-rush potential in 2016. He went out that season, and flashed that potential, collecting 5.5 sacks. Being on the practice squad means Noah didn’t spend much time on the field on Sundays this season, but he did see some action. He was active and recorded a tackle in the Bengals’, 41-21, Week 16 win over the Baltimore Ravens, and then logged four tackles in the team’s, 21-16, Week 18 loss to the Browns.
