Rep. Rashida Tlaib still has a Palestinian flag hanging outside of her House office after the invasion of Israel by Hamas, during which hundreds of Israelis and some Americans were killed.
Tlaib, who is of Palestinian descent, has not supported Israel and has made her stance on supporting Palestine known throughout the years. The Michigan Democrat, along with other members of the liberal “Squad,” boycotted the Israeli president’s joint address to Congress earlier this year. The flag outside her office has been there through at least the majority of this Congress.
"The path to that future must include lifting the blockade, ending the occupation, and dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance," Tlaib continued."The failure to recognize the violent reality of living under siege, occupation, and apartheid makes no one safer. No person, no child anywhere, should have to suffer or live in fear of violence.
