Ten French nationals were killed in the attacks led by Hamas in Israel, and 18 remain unaccounted for, French Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne said on Wednesday. There are several children among the missing French nationals, who have likely been kidnapped, she added. “Every day we discover new horrors committed by Hamas terrorists, every day the death toll increases,” Borne told lawmakers in the Senate.
France had already announced the death of four French nationals earlier this week. Borne said the French government was doing everything possible to help its nationals in Israel. On Tuesday evening, the French Foreign Ministry said it would organize a flight between Tel Aviv and Paris on Thursday to allow French citizens to go home. Pregnant women, unaccompanied minors, people with disabilities or in a medical condition that demands urgent care, would be given priority, the ministry said.
