San Diego County residents have until October 16 to file their tax returns.
SAN DIEGO — California and the Internal Revenue Service is extending the state tax filing and payment due dates to Oct. 16 for Californians impacted by this winter's storms, which includes San Diego County.
Many Californians had their homes and belongings devastated by these storms and by the flooding, landslides, mudslides and evacuations they caused. However, if taxpayers have already finished filing their latest tax return, and needs to safely dispose of old tax files the City of San Diego has resources. City residents can take advantage of the annual free Tax File Recycling event.
