It is the latest marker to show the popularity of Irish League football
The Northern Ireland Football League has recorded another major increase in attendances in the Sports Direct Premiership.
Over 46,000 supporters have take in games in both the Premiership and Championship during the opening three weeks of the campaign.The 24.2 per cent increase is measured on the first four rounds of Sports Direct Premiership fixtures compared to the same period last season. NI Football League CEO Gerard Lawlor said: “We’re delighted to be announcing a 24% increase of attendances already this season, this is testament to the great work of our team at NIFL and also the clubs who continue to provide affordable, family-friendly entertainment right on our doorsteps.
The build-up to the new season has generated plenty of interest, with a 14% increase in home attendances in the Premiership compared to last season.
