America falls again in list of world's happiest countries InternationalDayOfHappiness
The U.S. ranks only 19th in the United Nations’ latest World Happiness Report, sliding one place since 2018’s edition. Released Wednesday, the world’s largest economy lags behind countries including Sweden, Costa Rica and the U.K.
Produced since 2012, certain Nordic and western European countries have persistently bested the U.S. The country ranked 15th in the 2015 report, 13th in 2016, 14th in the 2017 report and 18th in 2018. As well as the standard happiness rankings, this year’s report includes chapters focused on the theme of happiness and community. The report devoted an entire chapter to “the sad state of happiness in the U.S.”
